Pau Gasol had a good career with the LA Lakers but his exit from the franchise was not an amicable one. Towards the end of his time with the Lakers, he was more or less begging the team to be let go. 

It was thought that teammate Shannon Brown was the main reason for Gasol’s poor performances towards the latter stages of his time in LA. Supposedly, Brown had an affair with Gasol’s fiancée, Silvia Lopez Castro, and although Brown denied the rumors, it certainly tarnished his name.
